Mid-Week Treat
Baby Book List

This time of year makes me want to sit under a tree and read. I hope Anna grows to love reading too.
Some people have asked about the books I read while I was pregnant and during the first few months of motherhood. (I am sort of a crazy information gatherer...it probably just makes me more confused, but I do have a lot of knowledge and trivia from the habit).
Here's a list of the baby-related books that have been on my nightstand. I read some great fiction too, but I'll spare you the list. I don't agree with everything in these baby books, obviously, but I've gotten a lot of good ideas from the lot as a whole. I have plenty to say about them too, if you're curious.
Let me know which other ones I should read!!

A Much Needed Nap
Mark came home at lunchtime today to help me finish a cooking project, and he caught Anna and me napping. She caught Mark's cold and so is even less interested than usual in taking naps alone, so here we are in the position I discovered that allows us both to sleep.
Anna has been pretty miserable and therefore I'm pretty sleep-deprived. Anna has been waking up every 20 minutes or so all night to remind me that she isn't happy her nose is stuffy. (Mark -- as if he could see this week coming long ago -- brilliantly chose a career in which sleep is a necessity. We couldn't have him going to work at 4:30 this morning to fly a plane on no sleep. Of course we're sure he is sad to miss the nighttime fun).
One of our neighbors said she thought she heard an injured kitten, but then she realized it was our baby. Poor Anna...and I guess we'll try to shut more windows tonight.
Thank goodness for summer and time for napping.
Luckily I really love Anna, and I do appreciate the extra cuddling she's giving me today!

Reunion?
I really really want to go to the Davidson College 5 year reunion in September. I don't know if it's going to be possible, but let me know if you're going and it will be extra peer pressure.
There's nothing like a long conversation with a Davidson friend. Seriously. I miss you guys all the time.
